Terms of Service

These Terms govern your use of Decode, a service operated by Decode LLC, an Arizona limited liability company (“Decode”, “we”, “us”). By creating an account or using Decode, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use Decode.

1. YouTube API Services

Decode uses YouTube API Services. By using Decode, you agree to be bound by the YouTube Terms of Service. Google’s handling of your data is described in the Google Privacy Policy. You can revoke Decode’s access to your YouTube data at any time at security.google.com/settings/security/permissions.

Decode is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by YouTube or Google.

2. Your account

You must be at least 18 and able to enter a binding contract. You are responsible for activity under your account and for keeping your sign-in secure.

You may only connect YouTube channels you own or are authorized to manage. Each YouTube channel can be connected to one Decode account. If someone else on your team needs access, the account owner, or a teammate the owner makes an admin, invites them. The owner is responsible for what everyone in the account does.

4. Your content and data

You keep ownership of everything you enter or upload: costs, income, scripts, briefs and notes. You give us a limited license to process it only to provide Decode to you. We do not use your content or your YouTube data to train generalized AI models, and we do not publish it.

5. Decode’s figures are estimates

Decode shows YouTube’s own figures alongside figures Decode calculates or estimates: profit, payback, break-even views, comparisons and AI-written analysis. Figures carry a label saying where each came from; charts and written analysis carry one label for the section rather than one per number, and simple counts carry none. Decode’s figures are our own calculations and estimates. They are not from YouTube, not approved by Google, and not guaranteed. They depend on the costs and income you enter, and YouTube revises its own numbers over time.

Decode is not financial, tax, legal or investment advice. You are responsible for your own business and publishing decisions.

6. Closed beta, free of charge

Decode is in closed beta. Accounts are approved by hand, and access is free of charge unless we agree otherwise with you in writing. Decode may be changed, limited or ended at any time. If we introduce paid plans, we will publish the terms that govern them and ask you to agree to them before you are charged anything.

7. Availability and changes to the service

We may add, change or remove features. Decode depends on third-party services, including YouTube’s APIs; if they change or become unavailable, affected features may change or stop working.

8. Ending your use of Decode

The account owner can disconnect a channel or delete the account at any time from Settings, or by emailing support@decodevideo.com. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these Terms, when the law or Google or YouTube policy requires it, or when its use threatens the security of the service. If Decode’s access to a channel is revoked, we delete that channel’s YouTube data; if access stops working for another reason, we keep trying to confirm it and delete the data once we can confirm it is gone. Either way we warn you in the app first. What happens to your data is described in our Privacy Policy.

9. Disclaimers

To the fullest extent the law allows, Decode is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy and non-infringement.

10. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue, data or goodwill. Our total liability for any claim relating to Decode is limited to what you paid us in the twelve months before the event that caused the claim.

11. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Decode LLC from claims arising from your use of Decode, your content, or your breach of these Terms or of the YouTube Terms of Service.

12. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Arizona, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Disputes will be brought in the courts located in Arizona.

13. Changes to these Terms

When we change these Terms or our Privacy Policy in a way that matters, we tell you in the product and ask you to agree again before you continue using Decode.
